So again we talked
about the quality of our soil on the north side of the
house. So I called and ordered 3 yards (cubic) of sand ,
$160 if I pay cash, or they will charge the taxes. I was
surprised they gave me the "no tax" without me asking
for it. The underground economy is getting bigger.
It was delivered
within and hour. The truck ripped a few branches off the
tree, but that was less important than us carrying it an
extra few feet . Both of the neighbours I know that have
wheelbarrows were not home, so we used our own smaller
wagon.
I calculated
(guesstimated ) a 1'' deep layer of sand over the
effective area, which now seems like I bought too much,
but the rest we can spread around over the grass.
Millie always works
harder at moving soil or sand. We miss having Kevin on
the street, a kid who would do anything to make some
money.
We didn't get a lot
done as we thought we felt some rain, so we covered the
sand with a tarp, so it doesn't get too heavy
afterwards.
In the evening I went
to my first Toastmasters meeting, a small group, not yet
an official Toastmasters group. I didn't think I would
be required to say anything, but ended up giving a
spontaneous 2 min "acceptance speech for an Academy
award for best writer", a long 2 minutes, but I stumbled
thorough
Weight reflects
previous days of laziness, and cheating with Mars bars.
I must also reduce the quality of the soups to a more
"basic" menu
